Ascopiave Group’s Commitment

Ascopiave Group’s Commitment to Sustainable Success

The Ascopiave Group integrates sustainability into its business model by adopting a measurable and verifiable ESG-based approach. The company is committed to creating value for all stakeholders through transparent and collaborative dialogue, aimed at promoting economic, environmental, and social sustainability.

In 2024, Ascopiave strengthened its commitment in compliance with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), placing particular emphasis on detailed reporting of sustainability-related impacts, risks, and opportunities. The Group also conducted its first Double Materiality analysis, assessing both the impact of its activities on the environment and society, as well as the influence of sustainability issues on business performance.

To reduce its environmental impact, Ascopiave implemented concrete actions in 2024, including:

LOGO Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions: The Group launched a program to reduce fugitive methane emissions from its distribution networks.
LOGO Energy efficiency and renewable sources: Through its subsidiaries active in the renewable energy sector-particularly in hydroelectric, wind, photovoltaic, district heating, cogeneration, and trigeneration-Ascopiave contributes to the decarbonization of the sector.
LOGO Responsible water resource management: Through its participation in Cogeide, Ascopiave supports water service management in 15 municipalities, investing in infrastructure to reduce water losses.

A Cross-Cutting Commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals

SDGs Ascopiave’s sustainability journey takes into account all 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), but, given the nature of its activities, the Group contributes most significantly to SDGs 6, 7, 8, and 9. At the same time, considering its impact on the territories in which it operates, Ascopiave also supports SDGs 10, 11, 12, and 13.

Within this framework, Ascopiave’s strategy embraces the concept of responsibility required by the 2030 Agenda-not only in terms of business operations, but also as a driver of change to create sustainable systems at both local and global levels.

Its impact is developed across three main areas:

LOGO Energy Transition and Decarbonization:

  • Reduction of emissions and investments in renewable energy;
  • Monitoring of Scope 1 and 2 emissions to ensure transparent greenhouse gas reporting;
  • Circular economy initiatives in infrastructure management.
LOGO Economic, Social, and Territorial Development:

  • Promotion of decent work and workplace safety: the Group integrates safety into all business activities, focusing on continuous staff training;
  • Social inclusion and reduction of inequalities: development of corporate welfare policies for employee well-being and support for local communities;
  • Investments in sustainable infrastructure: the 2028 Plan includes upgrades to distribution networks to ensure efficient and safe services in both urban and rural areas.
LOGO Responsible Governance and Human Rights:

  • Transparency and regulatory compliance: ESG governance, supported by the activities of the Sustainability Committee and the Enterprise Risk Management procedure;
  • Gender equality and people development: female representation in managerial roles and the creation of programs for skills development.

For Ascopiave, sustainable success is not only a cornerstone of its corporate strategy, but also a key lever to promote the development and well-being of the communities it serves.

Through a strategy based on concrete data and transparent reporting, the Group continues to evolve towards a growth model aligned with the global objectives of the 2030 Agenda.
